With performances April 18th, 19th, and 20th 2013 at 8pm and a matinee performance on Sunday April 21st at 2pm. Wasaga Community Theatre and our Sponsors hope you will join us for and evening or afternoon filled with fun and laughter as our cast performs "Leading Ladies". A hilarious comedy about Jack and Leo, two English Shakespearean actors, who find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they decide to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives to get the cash. But when they get to York, they discover that the relatives aren't nephews at all, they are nieces! Romantic entanglements result with Leo falling in love with the old lady's vivacious niece, Meg. Unfortunately for Leo, Meg is engaged to the local minister. Meg knows that there's a wide world out there, but it's not until she meets "Maxineand Stephanie" that she finally gets a taste of it. Men pretending to be women but falling in love with the women they are trying to fool results in hilarity at its best. Bring your laughter because you're going to need it. Ken Ludwig is a renowned playwright who has had six shows on Broadway and has won two Laurence Olivier Awards, three Tony Award nominations, two Helen Hays Awards and the Edgar Award. You are guaranteed good fun when you enjoy one of his plays. |
